Tracking links, explained
1What a tracking link is
Every approved affiliate deliverable gets a unique link on the /t/… path. Share-ready variants for TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram are generated for the creator, each with a short slug. When a customer clicks, the tracker records the click and redirects to your product page — no link shorteners, no third party in the middle.
2How attribution works
- Click: the /t redirect logs which creator and campaign the click belongs to.
- Conversion: when that customer buys, the order is attributed to the creator's link.
- Charge: your saved card is charged per the campaign's charging mode (per-sale, budget, or pre-funded pot), and the creator's 90% share goes on hold for 7 days.
3The #ad labelling rule
UK advertising rules require creator posts to be clearly labelled as advertising before people engage. Creators attest to #ad labelling when they submit, get automatic reminders if they don't, and their reviewing business is notified if a submission is still un-attested 48 hours later. You can see each deliverable's attestation status on the campaign page, and export a compliance CSV of every label decision from Dashboard → Attestations.
4Revocation and rejection
Rejecting a deliverable revokes its tracking link immediately — no further sales are attributed to rejected work. Sales already made through the link are unaffected, and the 7-day hold plus the SLA dispute process protect both sides while anything is contested.
5Privacy-safe logging
Clicks are logged in aggregate for attribution only, gated behind the visitor's cookie choice — until a visitor accepts analytics on the consent banner, no tracking session even starts. Each consent decision is recorded (with a hashed, non-reversible device identifier) so the platform can evidence compliance, and click logs are retained on a fixed schedule and never sold or shared. Your customers' trust (and yours) is the product.
6Frequently asked questions
Where does a tracking link actually send visitors?
To the campaign's destination through Adswish's /t/ slug path, which resolves the link and logs the click before redirecting.
What happens to my tracking link if a deliverable is rejected?
Adswish revokes it, so no further sales are attributed through that link.
Does Adswish store my visitors' personal data?
No raw personal data: analytics only start after consent, and click logs keep only one-way hashed identifiers.
